Partner Program

We are looking for distribution partners
across Southeast Asia.

Team SoftEx, Inc. has built classroom and PC management products in Taiwan since 2008 — our own engineering, our own product lines, 18 years of them. We are now selecting partners to carry those products into their own markets. Territories are open, and so is the conversation.

Southeast Asia is where we are concentrating first, because it is where we already work. It is not a restriction — if you are somewhere else and the fit is right, write to us anyway.

Why now

The industry moved to annual subscriptions. Not every buyer wanted to.

Across this category, licensing has been moving the same direction for years: away from a system the school buys once, toward a per-seat subscription that has to be renewed — usually at a higher number than last year. For a well-funded school with a steady software budget, that is manageable.

For a great many buyers it is not. Public-sector purchasing in much of Asia is far better set up to approve a one-time capital purchase than a recurring annual cost that somebody has to defend in every budget cycle. A ministry-funded lab, a vocational college, a government training centre — the money is usually there to buy something, and much harder to find to keep renting it.

That is the opening. Our software is sold as a perpetual license: the customer buys the seats they run and keeps them. Lessons run on the school's own network. And on the hardware side there is no licensing dependency at all.

Perpetual software licensing — bought once, not renewed every year
Lessons run on the school's own network — screens, commands and files stay on site
Survives a bad connection — the software runs for 30 days offline before it needs to check in
Hardware products need no license server and no account at all
Runs on the machines a lab already has — an Intel Core i3 class PC is enough
Software and hardware in one portfolio — most vendors carry only one side
Built in-house in Taiwan — we are the manufacturer, not a reseller of somebody else's code
What you get

What we actually put behind a partner

No tiers, no points programme, no portal you have to log into to find a datasheet. These are the concrete things a partner gets from us.

Distributor pricing. Your margin, your call.

You buy at distributor pricing and set your own resale price in your market. We do not undercut you by selling directly to your customers, and we do not tell you what to charge.

Demo licenses, no gatekeeping

Run live demonstrations on your own machines and at customer sites without requesting permission each time. A classroom product has to be shown, not described.

Territories are open

No market is locked into an exclusive agreement — not in Southeast Asia, and not anywhere else. There is genuine room to discuss what a serious commitment in your market is worth, and that conversation is still available.

You own first line. That is revenue.

Partners handle first-line support in their own market and language, which is where a meaningful share of your margin lives. We stand behind you as second line when something needs the people who wrote the code.

English technical documentation

Installation, deployment and administration documentation in English, so your engineers are not reverse-engineering the product on a customer site.

Training — remote as standard, on-site when it matters

Product and technical onboarding is delivered remotely by default. Where an opportunity justifies it, we will travel to you and train your team in person.

Your brand, and your language

Carry the product under your own logo and product name where that fits your market better than ours does — and have the interface localized into the language your customers actually teach in. A public tender that specifies the national language stops being a reason you cannot bid. Scope and arrangements are agreed case by case.

Tell us what your market needs

If your customers need functionality we do not ship today, send us the requirement. We build our own products with our own R&D team, so specification requests get a real engineering assessment — not a form letter.

Product lines

Six product lines through one supplier relationship

A school rarely has just one problem. Carrying the full portfolio means you can answer the lab, the classroom, the exam room and the language room without adding another vendor to your paperwork.

Licensing

How the products are priced

Licensing works differently on the software and hardware sides. Distributor pricing and volume structure are discussed directly — this is how the underlying model works.

Software lines

Licensed by the number of client machines connected at the same time — a customer licenses the concurrent seats they actually run. The license is perpetual: bought once and kept, with no annual renewal required to keep using it. Licensing is validated against our license server at activation and periodically thereafter, with a 30-day offline allowance so an unreliable connection never interrupts teaching. Terms for ongoing version updates are agreed as part of the partnership.

Hardware lines

Sized by unit count, and with no licensing layer at all — no activation, no license server, no account. You work backwards from how many student positions the room has to determine how many units the site needs, which makes quoting a room straightforward once you know its capacity.

Partner profile

Who we are hoping to hear from

We would rather have a small number of partners who work their market properly than a long list of companies carrying us on a price sheet. If the description on the right sounds like your business, the conversation is likely to be worth both our time.

If it does not — say so anyway. Purchasing offices, system integrators and project-based contractors have all worked out well for us before, and we would rather assess a real situation than a category.

You already sell into schools, universities or government IT in your market
You can put a technical person in front of a customer, not just a quotation
You want a product line to build a business on, not another SKU in a catalogue
You are willing to run first-line support — and want the revenue that comes with it
Process

What happens after you write to us

01

Tell us about your market

Which country, which segment you sell into today, and which of our product lines fits what your customers are already asking for.

02

Technical walkthrough

A working demonstration of the products you are interested in, plus the documentation your engineers need to judge whether it holds up.

03

Commercial terms

Distributor pricing for the lines you want to carry, territory scope, and any white-label, language localization or specification requirements you have.

04

Onboarding

Demo licenses, product and technical training, and sales materials — so your first customer conversation is not your first look at the product.

FAQ

Questions partners ask first

How does the commercial relationship work?

You buy licenses at distributor pricing and set your own resale price in your market. We do not sell around you to your customers, and we do not dictate what you charge.

Are territories exclusive?

Territory arrangements are open for discussion. No market is locked into an exclusive agreement today — not in Southeast Asia and not elsewhere — so there is real room to talk about what a serious commitment in your market is worth.

How is the product licensed?

It depends on the product line. Software is licensed by the number of client machines connected at the same time, and the license is perpetual — bought once, with no annual renewal required to keep using it. Terms for ongoing version updates are agreed as part of the partnership. Hardware is sized by the number of units your customer needs for their student capacity and carries no licensing layer at all. We will walk you through the pricing structure for the lines you want to carry.

Does the software need an internet connection?

Teaching itself does not go through us — screens, commands and files stay on the school’s own network. What needs a connection is licensing: activation contacts our license server, and the software re-validates with it periodically after that. If it cannot reach us, it keeps running for 30 days. So an unreliable line, a long holiday, or a campus that drops off the network for a few weeks does not stop a single class — which is not true of a cloud subscription that fails the moment the link does. The one case to raise with us in advance is a permanently air-gapped site. Our hardware products have no licensing layer at all and never connect to us.

Do we get demo licenses?

Yes. We provide demo licenses so you can run live demonstrations on your own equipment, at your own customer sites, without asking us first every time.

Who handles support for end customers?

You do. Partners run first-line support in their own market and language, which is also where a large part of your margin comes from. We back you up as second line, and we provide English technical documentation so your engineers are not guessing.

Do you provide training?

Remote onboarding and product training are standard. Where an opportunity justifies it, we can travel to you for in-person training.

Can we sell it under our own brand?

Yes. White-label branding — your logo and your product name — is available. If you need specific functionality for your market, send us the requirement and we will assess whether we can build it.

Can the software be localized into our language?

Yes. We can localize the interface into the language your customers teach in, so a tender that requires the national language is no longer a reason you cannot bid. Scope, timing and the arrangements around it are agreed case by case — tell us which language and which product lines you need, and we will work it out with you.

What kind of partner are you looking for?

Companies already selling into schools, universities or government IT — people who have the relationships and can put an engineer in front of a customer. We are not looking for catalogue listings; we are looking for partners who will actually work the market with us.

Tell us which market you are in.

One message with your country and the segment you sell into is enough to start. We reply within 48 hours on business days, in English or Chinese.
